Faffing Friday Edition #7
Pink leopard print slides, the secret to happiness, affording a long life & much more
This is just me to you sharing what I’ve been faffing around doing/reading/buying on the internet this week.
This is an affiliate free zone.
I thought you might like to know that.
I will only ever mention products I’ve bought or would like to buy myself and think you might like, too.
It’s been a quiet faffing week for me which is pretty unusual. I’ve had a busy work week and trying to balance that with the exhaustion that is recovering from Covid but here goes faffers ..
MONEY 💷 How to afford living to 100 and the magic of compound returns is the single greatest weapon in your financial arsenal. If only I’d known this aged 21. There is a global boom of people reaching their 60’s and although this is a US article it’s still easily converted into GBP.
LIFE ⏳ is doing nothing the secret to happiness?
is an author I follow here on Substack. This article mentions her latest book, A Year of Nothing. What really caught my attention when reading this was;
“On my return after two weeks, I plunged back into my working life recharged and raring to go. But, inexplicably, days later, I found myself intensely craving more time off, and experiencing a low-level discontentment that only intensified in the following days.”
I know I’ve had Covid but this is how I feel after my recent fabulous time in Italy. There’s so much to unpack and I was intrigued too about ‘relationship audits’.
STREAMING 🍿 Straight off the back of watching Buying London last week I found Luxe Listings Toronto to drool over. I love the houses not so much the rest but I think I’d enjoy having a go at selling luxury homes. Can I add that to my CV? 😆
SHOPPING 🛍️ Pink Leopard Print Birkenstock Dupes. I didn’t really need any more slides but I am a sucker for anything pink AND leopard print. I mean, what’s not to love? Only £8.00 and seem super comfy so far. I’m normally a 6.5 and I found the size 6 were the best fit. If the size 6 hadn’t been available the 7 would’ve been ok, too. If that helps your sizing queries.

CHAT 💬 Nicola Coughlan came up while I was faffing this week .. must be because I’d wrote about her last week when she’d been horrendously body shamed. I loved this, she was given an accent challenge.
She’s super talented.
I challenge us all to practise, ‘I burn for you, Colin. I really do.’ in our best Kardashian and Nadine Coyle accents. I challenge you now!! 😆
💗 A whole new generation of Swifties. It turns out that Swift’s multi-award winning back catalogue has just the right beats per minutes to help people with dementia spark memories of happiness. What joy!

That’s all for this week, faffers.
Ciao for now,
Hitting the Like 💗 button, re-stacking and/or commenting at the foot of this post is the most massive help in getting the word out on Substack about Best Before End Date, through its Explore and Search functions.
ANNNNDDD .. I love conversations so the comments is good place to start those.
I’m massively appreciative of any support because writing this really is my jam 😊 Thank you!
That Nicola Coughlan accent challenge is brilliant. She’s so skilled. I have a Northern Irish accent myself, and it’s amazing how many different accents there are in one small country.
