How can I write about faffing when in reality I’ve hardly faffed around on the internet since we last ‘spoke’?
Can I say ‘spoke’? I mean, when I write here I feel like I’m speaking to you.
We got back from the Amalfi Coast late Wednesday afternoon and I’ve got tons to share with you but it will have to wait while I’m still decompressing 😆
We were no sooner back then we had a family wedding to got to on Friday. Which was beautiful way to end our vacay time.
It was also my 61st birthday while we were away. I can’t believe how quickly I went from 60 to 61 but I can say hand on heart I’ve had a fabulous year.
Here’s to many more 🥂
Here’s one of the only pics I have of myself. I normally take loads but this holiday I had what I can only describe as an unintentional digital detox.
Apart that is, from taking pics of the fabulous vistas of Sorrento, Positano, Atrani, Pompei, Ravello and Capri. I did a tiny bit of Instagram storying and that was it. It felt so good to switch off but I guess a lot of that was down to the stunning surroundings and our hotel was a dream.
More on that next week.
You might remember I bought this pink dress not so long ago .. Faffing Friday #2 actually.
I was all geared up to wear if for the wedding but in the back of my mind I had other ideas. I’d bought a gorgeous embroidered dress in the deep, dark depths of Winter and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. The only problem was I had no shoes to wear with it. I’d had a massive clear out of heels after my knee surgery 18 months ago.
I think Italy had an effect on me because I was thinking D&G vibes ❤️
So that’s where my faffing came in useful once back home.
SHOPPING 🔍 searched and found and bought these from H&M on Thursday on next day delivery. They arrived in the nick of time at about 1pm on Friday afternoon. We needed to set off for the wedding at 3.15pm! Talk about cutting it fine. That’s usually Mr B’s domain.
Thankfully, it all pulled together really well {and quickly} with my old and trusty Lulu Guinness Red Lips clutch which you can still buy in various colours as it has earned a bit of a cult status.
The only photo I have of me in said outfit was a #loofie which is typical me. I am in some of the official wedding photos so will have to wait to see those. The bride looked absolutely beautiful - my sister in law.
Her story is proof that love can be found second time around.
A real happy ending.
Anyway, here I am in said posh loo ..
The shoes were actually comfortable which was even better. Result.
STREAMING 🍿 There’s so much in my Plex account to binge watch right now with being away.
I’ve been catching up season 3 of Hacks since I got back.
It’s so smartly written. I love that two really strong women are playing lead roles and that Jean Smart who is 72 IRL is playing a 70 year old still wanting everything showbiz can throw at her. AND still pulling.
The sex scene where she regrets having a one night stand is AGELESS.
I love it.
The way she bounces off her GEN Z writing partner, Ava played by Hannah Einbinder is priceless. The witty one liners that they throw at each other even when not writing jokes are so funny while scathingly hurtful. They remind me of the sort of relationship where they can say anything to each other but woe betide anyone else who says anything about one of them.
And that’s really all I’ve done since getting back from Italy.
Normal faffing will soon resume.
Ciao for now,
Please share with your friends if you think they’ll enjoy my Faffing Friday posts.

Love your dress. Also, Jean Smart rocks!
Sharon you look absolutely stunning, what an outfit!! 😍
So glad you had a wonderful holiday, not as glamorous as Italy but we’re off to Cornwall on Saturday for a week and I can’t wait… amazing what a break does for you, eh x
