Faffing Friday Edition 8
D-Day love, how to age well, Karl Lagerfeld & socks. Yes socks. But animal print.
This is just me to you sharing what I’ve been faffing around doing/reading/buying on the internet this week.
This is an affiliate free zone. I thought you might like to know that.
LOVE 💘 Let’s start with something that surely makes all our hearts sing .. 'Love isn't just for young people'. Weren’t they the most gorgeous, cutest couple on D-Day last week? He’s 100 and the bride is 96 💗 #nevertoolate
LIFE ⏳ to take a leaf out of Harold and Jeanne’s book check out the 7 Habits of People Who Age Well. I’m trying to live by the same 7.
“Old age, is no place for sissies.”
Closing the employment gap for older workers would generate £9 billion a year for economy. The Centre for Ageing Better is calling for all political parties to commit to raising the employment rate of 50-64 workers to 75% by 2030 by signing up to its new 50+ Employment Commitment.
A Study On Preschool Girls. What We Discovered Should Disturb You. When a 4 years old child calls herself ugly then it seems our problems are worsening not lessening. I’ve been reading more about this problem than I like this year. All tied into kids using a full skincare regime as young as eight years old. It’s frightening and very sad.
DISCOVER 💡I love reading what makes designers and creatives tick - why they do what they do. Diane von Furstenburg. What a life!
And I love her attitude to ageing …
“age is a sense of pride.”
STREAMING 🍿 And talking about fashion designers you must watch the biopic, Becoming Karl Lagerfeld, described as an “an absolute feast for the eyes”
I was obsessed and binged all 6 episodes last weekend. Actor, Daniel Brühl captured the richness and depth of someone who was so obviously a multi faceted character. Almost a real life caricature.
I also fell in love with this font and the colours at the start of every episode. That’s my day job side of me kicking in.
Catch it streaming on Disney.
🍿 We also finished watching Season 2 of Outer Range this week on Amazon Prime. We had to really pay attention and stop and rewind a few times as we found it a little difficult sometimes to keep up with the time flips but I wouldn’t let that put you off.
Described as a cross between ‘Yellowstone’ and Stranger Things .. it’s awesome.
SOCKS!! 🧦 Yes I’ve only bought socks this week because I couldn’t resist animal print socks. Three pairs .. a black pair underneath. Good quality, just the right thickness. £10.
Oh I tell a lie .. I’d had my eye on this for weeks so I bought this too.
I love the bold contrast of the teal and yellow.
I was just drawn to it. Not practical just beautiful. £38.
That’s all for this week, faffers.
I’ve got my first travel post coming next week .. it’s taken a few weeks I know but so many photos to sort through.
Ciao for now,

ANNNNDDD .. I love conversations so the comments is good place to start those.
I’m massively appreciative of any support because writing this really is my jam 😊
Ohhhhh damn we cancelled our Disney subscription (husband was angry at what they did to Star Wars and Marvel 😬) so I might have to consider it for a month… I LOVE the idea of Daniel Brühl as Karl, I’ll watch anything he’s in. And I agree about the graphics, I love Wes Anderson for the same reason 😜
Heading straight over to Disney ( which is usually reserved for my granddaughter) to watch Karl . As a 22 year old travel rep working for Thomson holidays in Paris in the 80's I was at Charles de Gaulle airport to collect some guests when in flounced ( yes) this vision in full length white fur followed by full entourage with mountains of luggage , yes it was Monsieur Lagerfeld himself . I was transfixed , my guests forgotten I'd never seen anything like it .
