THE perfect Summer fragrance dupe

To some of you this might be old news.

It’s actually old news for me as I’ve been buying this dupe for about the last three summers.

I’ve always been a lover of Bronze Goddess perfume by Estèe Lauder. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t have a bottle of it.

I think I love it so much because the fragrance is evocative of holidays spent lathering myself in Hawaiian Tropic.

I don’t remember a summer at home or away where I haven’t wanted to reach for it. It must take me back to happy times. Fragrance memory does that, doesn’t it?

The original Bronze Goddess was renamed to Bronze Goddess Eau Fraîche Skinscent at some point but I don’t think it changed otherwise.

Described on the EL website as:

“Feel the heat. Alluring and sexy. The velvety texture of the Tiare Flower is showcased along with creamy Coconut and the radiant warmth of earthy Amber, Sandalwood and Vanilla. All heat. All desire.”

I’m certainly no fragrance nose but definitely get the sense of coconut and amber.

The only downside for me is it’s not heavy enough. Just a tad heavier would suffice. It doesn’t last on me as long as I’d like it to and it’s probably why I find myself going overboard with the spritzing as I just love how it makes me feel.

I reach for it instinctively as the sun starts to shine and a bottle of it always comes with me on every holiday.

It’s an expensive way to spritz!! At £75 a pop.

Then I found Next’s Summer Sun. I don’t even know how. Although, I think I do.

I think I was stood in a queue waiting to pay for something and you know how they have little things in the aisle as you wait to tempt you to try and buy? I think it was then.

I thought I have to buy this it smells SO much like Bronze Goddess.

Same size - 100ml. Same lush fragrance. Probably a tiny bit lighter on the spritz but in every other way it’s the same. I can afford a few more spritzes anyway at £16 for the 100ml parfum and £24 for the 200ml.

Described on the Next website as:

“A sun-drenched blend of sweet caramel and amber combined with sun-hot skin creates an endless summer scent. In short the beach in a bottle. Coconut and exotic flowers combined with notes of sun-kissed skin.

Fragrance notes:

• Top: Mandarin, Bergamot

• Mid: Coconut, Exotic Flowers

• Base: Amber, Caramel

Fragrance Family: Floral Oriental”

Fast forward and here I am many bottles later sharing with you because you must try it.

And then to add to my summer fragrance joy, Next added to the range this season. I’ve I treat myself recently to the perfume and body lotion gift set for only £20 and the bath and shower gel 400ml for £7.

The body lotion feels rather extravagant and rich and works on my dry legs which is a feat in itself. The shower gel could take a little more fragrance to it to help wake my senses but overall I’d keep using it throughout the warmer days.

A bargainous range that is 100% the best dupe ever IMO.

Oh and while I was getting the links I’ve found their latest new addition ..

The Summer Sun Shimmer Body Mist £7 so in the interest of research I’ll be trying it out.
