TGIF: What's got my attention this week #2
Warmest of welcomes to my curated weekly round up of things that have piqued my interest this week.

Hello and what a quick week it's felt. Is it just me?
The world and his dog is preparing for the Coronation of King Charles III this weekend. I glimpsed on the news the concert stage that has been built at Windsor Castle. As much as I thought it looks spectacular I couldn’t help but think is our new monarch really ‘reading the room’? When people using food banks for the first time is at an all time high in the UK and inflation tipped over 11% it does make you think, doesn’t it?
Follow
at for her Coronation coverage if that’s your thing. Americans always show off on our behalf, don’t they? I do love our pageantry even if I don’t want a monarch any more. Nobody does it like us.Loved the wackiness of the Met Gala as always. This year the dress code was in honour of Kaiser { Karl } Lagerfeld. My favourite serve of the evening has got to go to Mr Pedro Pascal in his Valentino ensemble. He was hotttttt🔥
I loved, loved, loved that Forbes published an article on Women Over 50 Who Slayed At The Met Gala.
Mary J Blige at 52. WOW!!
What it must feel like to be dolled up like that, hey? I guess I’ll never find out. Just keep dreaming, girl.
The debacle at the CBI rolls on. How do you solve its problems? Sexual misconduct and toxic culture in one of the bastions of British industry? It’s deeply engrained across our society as a whole and it’s vital that it continues to get called out if things are to change for future women.
As a close to this week’s curated news that caught my attention here’s some marriage guidance advice for anyone whose husband won’t lift a finger from agony aunt, Philippa Perry at the Guardian;
“if you get HRT and find yourself more tolerant as a result, I do not suggest you let your husband get away with not sharing the physical and emotional labour of the home, but it may give you more patience when you remind him to think about what needs doing and not leave it all to you.”
I hope you can read the irony in this. I felt as if I’d fallen into the set of ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ when I read it.
Personally, I’d suggest a new husband not HRT!
Have a great weekend, Sharon x
