I don’t know what I’d do without my friends Sharon and I’m always up for making new one! Let’s see if we can do a meet up IRL soon! Hopefully I’ll learn how to substack from you as well! 🙌❤️

Wouldn’t it be fab Lisa if we could do again? I love those photos of us. Let’s make it happen. Maybe you might venture a bit North this time? 😉

I love the name of your newsletter, and love your message - could not agree more!!! Besides writing thePause, I write about friendship @FriendshipRules on Substack (not a shameless plug but wanted to let you know we are closely aligned:)

That’s very kind Sheryl. I did toy with changing it when I moved to Substack but after some thought I decided against it. Subscribed to you now, too. Looking forward to reading your friendship posts. I’ve started the first paragraph about men and friendship. As I was finishing this post up getting ready for publication I thought what do men do? 🤔

Yep it’s like , you know I did once have a life apart from being a Mum ! I actually feel now that I’m coming into my prime - I’m single , financially independent and don’t actually give a damn ! How liberating is that?

I’m 62 , I have a small circle of very close friends male and female but then an ever growing circle of friends I’ve met through work ( I’m

A self employed contractor and change contracts every year or so) or because I now live in a very small community where everyone talks to each other . I have many younger friends who delight in my stories of my mis spent youth and years working overseas and I really enjoy telling these tales . Getting older shouldn’t mean getting more solitary

Oh I like this Gaynor ... you’re much the same as me. I do love a good regale of a tale too with my younger friends.

I have lived a very rich and varied life! My own kids are either bored or embarrassed of these stories whereas their friends lap it all up . Is it vain to want to relive those memories?

I know what you mean ... the eye rolls. But new people want to hear them don’t they? 🤣 now and again I can still surprise the kidults with something I’ve remembered or they do something they think I’ve never done & I’m like ‘ oh I remember when I...’
