Life Lately Edition #37 June 2025
A month that was all about fun in the sun, proud parents, sleeping in a log house, EFT love, fast zombies and never too old for messy girlfriend brunching.
June started off strong. Mr B and I spent a week in the North of Ibiza. It had a few blips though which I wrote about in my Travel Diaries ⤵
I had a full two weeks off work which I don’t think I’ve done in years. Anyone who works for themself like me will know what a big deal this is. We ended the fortnight off with a weekend trip to the Lake District to watch our eldest son take part in the Great North Swim in Lake Windermere. The distance he swam was 5k and was his first time taking part in an open water swim. He admitted how hard it was but he did it. We were very proud. He raised over £1,000 for men’s mental health charity, Andy’s Man Club.
Here he is grinning away that it was over and done with, I think. Bless!
We stayed for 2 nights Friday and Saturday at a cute little place called The Log House in Ambleside. In 1905, water colour artist, Alfred Heaton Cooper imported a traditional Norwegian log cabin kit, assembling it plank by plank in Coniston to serve as his studio and gallery. Realising that Ambleside was a more popular destination for tourists, he ingeniously relocated his log cabin. He carefully dismantled it and transported it to its current location, where it now stands as a testament to his adventurous spirit and love for both Norwegian and Lake District landscapes. What an unusual history, hey?
It’s perfectly situated just on the edge of the town and absolutely spotlessly clean. It is just room only and we paid £100 per night. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance so breakfast as you can see wasn’t a problem

Like I said, having two full two weeks off was absolute bliss.
I’ve managed to fit in some lovely catch up lunches with friends throughout June but mostly once back from holiday it was full pelt with work delivering my workshops. You can find out a bit more about what I do for some of my work life here.
I’ve also been squeezing in a fair few of my EFT sessions. I have to complete 50 hours worth of client sessions as part of my EFT training this year and I’m pleased to report that I’m half way through since starting in February.
I’ve also received a couple of testimonials on LinkedIn from some of the people I’ve facilitated sessions with which honestly I’m staggered about and very grateful to receive.
I am so invested in this personally because I know how much it has helped me.
I hoped I would be able to help people and I’ll be honest I’ve been blown away with the results.
“I've recently undertaken a few EFT Tapping Sessions with Sharon. The concept was one that was entirely new to me but Sharon thoroughly explained the tapping process and the rationale behind it and consequently made me feel much more relaxed and open minded about the sessions.
Sharon was incredibly calming and understanding throughout the sessions having an amazing ability to listen, absorb feedback and tailor each session accordingly.
EFT wasn't something I'd heard of previously but I have found it to be a hugely beneficial tool to aid stress management and generalised anxiety. Sharon has equipped me with the skills to enable me to ensure that I can make EFT a part of my routine moving forward. I am certainly feeling the benefits of a positive mindset in my day to day activities.
It is clear that often the most simple concepts are the most effective and that's certainly the case with EFT and Sharon's guidance.”
I’m currently brainstorming what I’m going to call myself to be able to market myself once I’m qualified. When I’m settled on the name then I’ll probably start posting about it more.
We’ve had a new movie theatre open in town this month and so we decided to give it a try. We went to see 28 Years Later. Have you seen it? I love a zombie movie so I’m biased. And these fuckers are the fast ones!!
We caught up on the previous two movies to remind ourselves about them as they were so long ago. I’m sure I must’ve seen them more than once but needed a refresh. You don’t need to have seen them though to watch this. It explains the back story somewhat.
I’m not going to give any spoilers but that freaky ending? I wasn’t expecting it and not sure how I feel about it is all I’ll say 😬 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I rounded off the month with a fun brunch last weekend with some of my oldest friends. We’ve known each other for 50+ years since our schooldays from age 11.

It got me thinking and ended up in me writing this ⤵️
My Out of Office is going on again next week. I’m off on another mum and son trip with my eldest. You might remember last summer’s adventure - Mallorca With My Mini-Me. A tad excited.
Until next time, ciao!!
Your posts always give me hope and inspiration. I’m a couple of years from retirement in my current IT test consulting role and am now thinking of a shift into a more holistic role and am going to start looking at EFT . It’s not something I’ve ever heard of before but reading about it I sure could made use of it lots of times over the years.
