Here’s my March Faffing - things I’ve enjoyed reading, watching, eating, drinking, shopping and doing - basically everything that’s brought me joy this month.
Agree with you on Anora, Sharon (glamorising sexploitation). The second half of the film drew me in, especially when good-hearted "goon" Igor brought more nuance to the story. But couldn't see why it won best film.
I'm glad I watched Adolescence early on, before reading much about it. It's a really good drama, first and foremost!
I agree about Igor … that ending scene though with him … sad and cringey in equal messages & couldn’t help think oh yeah here we go again it has to be that type of final scene doesn’t it? I guess it was meaning she was trapped.
I could watch Adolescence again… in a couple of months.
I started a goodreads account and set myself a challenge of x number of books to read this year. After a couple of weeks and a couple of books read and reviews written I closed the account. Why ? I felt like I was back at school/college with a reading list to complete within a set time. For me reading is about relaxing and pleasure , I’m an avid reader and read every day but I don’t want to have to feel that ‘pressure’ of having to complete a certain number of books within a year , much less write about them . I’ll probably read far more than the original target I set myself but who cares 😊
I set up my Goodreads account because one of my sons challenged me to read more. I also like to see what other people are reading and reviewing. I thought it would make me more accounatble to read more than I did last year but that's not working 🤣 I used to be such a book worm but my screentime is not good. I'm working on that .. trying 🙄 she says!

I felt it showed she didn’t know how to relate to a man without being sexually performative.
I will watch Adolescence again, too, at some point.
